THE BOTTOM LINE:

  • The UHF signal is very strong in the optimized antenna configuration that gives you amazing distance performance without cutting out

  • While it is bulkier than other 2.4ghz systems, this is probably more for narrative filmmakers that use lavalier mics

  • Using it as a wireless boom mic transmitter, specifically the RODE VideoMic NTG or Andycine AC-M1 expands its usability on a shoot

  • While the battery life isn’t great for a full day of us, depending on your use case, it may be just enough. For filmmakers that need full day use may need to look for other workhorse options that use AA batteries

  • Ultimately this is a budget set for people just starting out or don’t have a large budget for essential gear.
